Hi there! I’m Anissa Hoyte, an aspiring design consultant and typographer with roots in the sun-kissed islands of Barbados and Grand Cayman. My love for design began in middle school, thanks to my Graphic Design teacher, Mr. Hamilton. In that classroom, I fell in love with letters and the allure of typography, which has captivated me ever since. Designing fonts and exploring how letters can tell a story became my creative obsession!
What started as a love for typography soon grew into a creative business I’m proud of—earning me the nickname “The Bag Girl” (a title I wear proudly!). Through my design brand, Niecy’s Customs, I began handcrafting personalized designs—mainly names, initials, and nicknames—for back-to-school bags and accessories. Each request was a chance to experiment with different type styles like bubble lettering, graffiti, and the occasional illustrated character. It was more than just creative expression; it became a space where I honed my design skills while learning the ins and outs of running a small business.
I’m passionate about helping others unlock their unique form of creative expression, whether through graphic design, social media, or even marketing campaigns. I possess expertise in various tools such as MS Word, Publisher, Excel, and Canva, and have also gained experience in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premier Pro, and Lightroom. I enjoy bringing ideas to life visually. Beyond the digital world, I’m skilled in painting and experimenting with various artistic mediums, as well as dabbling in the world of cosmetology—makeup, hair, and nails!
At the heart of it all, I believe creativity is something everyone can tap into—it's not reserved for a select few. Whether through personal expression, storytelling, or problem-solving, design has the power to connect, uplift, and inspire. My goal is to help others unlock that potential by offering thoughtful, intentional, and sustainable design solutions that look great and make a lasting impact.
